Operation procedure:
1. No anesthesia or part anesthesia
2. Fluences of 300-350 J/cm2, pulse durations of 40-70ms, and pulse intervals of 400-600ms were applied. A facula diameter 0.5mm, 1mm and 1.5mm were used.
3. According to different vein telangiectasia condition to adjust the facula pulse width and energy.
4. Focus on the disease part with the handpiece, step down the foot switch. Make the laser beam equality, watching the reaction of the operation area. If appeared vein atrophy, that's properly.
5. The small vein disappeared immediately, and the bigger veins going dark.
6. No cooling was applied prior to treatment. If required by the patient, ice packs were used to relieve discomfort.
7. Postoperative care was not required and neither postoperative compression nor supportive stockings were used.
Advantage:
1. No observed side effects even when using high fluencies.
2. Epidermal damage was minimal and only transitory.
3. The diode laser is small, mobile, low maintenance, and relatively inexpensive. Diodes are extremely long lived as compared to laser tubes.
Notice:
1. Patient were excluded from a history of deep vein thrombosis, poor healing or keloid formation, superficial thrombophlebitis or hypercoagulability, the presence of large tortuous veins, pregnancy or lactation, sclerotherapy, or any laser treatment for leg veins within the last 3 months.
2. Vessels were treated from a peripheral to a central direction with a single pass, irrespective of the observed clinical endpoint.
3. The treated area could be precisely identified on consecutive sessions to ensure repetitive treatment.
